LLM Providers

Add and manage API keys for supported LLM providers.

Overview

Aster Agents lets you bring your own model credentials. Connect API keys for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Azure OpenAI, xAI, or Fireworks AI, and your agents run on your own accounts.

Only Organization Admins can connect, edit, or disconnect providers. Everyone else sees the Providers page as read-only. See Roles & Permissions.

Connecting a provider

1. Go to Control Hub → Providers (/control-hub/providers).
2. Click Connect on the provider’s card.
3. Fill in the fields (see below).
4. Click Save Connection. Aster checks the key with the provider before saving it, and stores it encrypted.

Providers hold the credentials. On the Models page (/control-hub/models) you pick your organization’s default chat and embedding models, and manage Azure deployments.

Agents use your provider credentials at runtime, and you pay the provider directly. Set a spend cap in Aster to stop runaway usage early, and a spend limit in each provider’s console as a hard ceiling on the bill.

Rotating keys

Click Edit on a connected provider, paste the new key, and click Save Connection. Agents use the new key on their next run.

Disconnecting a provider

Click Disconnect on the provider’s card and confirm. Agents that use that provider’s models stop working until you reconnect it or switch them to another model.
